August 16th, Chairman of the Government of Russia Dmitriy Medvedev signed a decree "On expansion of special economic zone of industrial-production type in Sverdlovsk region." The document is published on the government website.
New platform is supposed to host enterprises from the following industrial sectors: aircraft construction and components, microelectronics, medical equipment manufacturing, mechanical engineering and machine-tool construction.
One of the largest civil aircraft construction and MRO companies in Russia - The Ural Works of Civil Aviation, JSC – will be the first resident of this platform with 6.75 hectares land plot allocated for construction purposes. In autumn 2018 UWCA is planning to start a new series assembly production of all-metal, high-wing twin turboprop aircraft L 410 UVP-E20 and other products.

Platform “Uktus” will be evolved in Ekaterinburg and become a new growing-point for the city and a key driver for surrounding territories Aramil and Sysert development.
